Call to Canadian Artists – Edmonton South Soccer Centre Expansion The Edmonton South Soccer Centre Expansion public art competition, open to professional artists residing in Canada, is held in accordance with the City of Edmonton policy Percent for Art to Provide and Encourage Art in Public Areas (C458C). The Edmonton Arts Council, on behalf of the City of Edmonton, seeks a Canadian artist or artist team to create an artwork to be installed in the summer of 2020. Two locations are available—artists may apply to either one. Location 1: Mural on the side of the building The existing Soccer Centre’s exterior walls offer a highly visible opportunity for a large mural. Artists may choose any portion of the existing building’s exterior wall to create their mural. Location 2: Sculptures in the planters This location can accommodate smaller sculptures placed in the planters.
