Event Services Lead

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Service & Events, the Event Services Lead contributes to the success of the organization by maximizing revenues through the execution of client events within our unique spaces and facility.

You are an event planning aficionado, with a passion for helping bring client visions to life. Utilizing your knowledge of the arts sector, meeting & event industry, and local media landscape, you play a key role in bringing attention to Arts Commons as a top destination for hosting a variety of special events.

You are someone who is able to multi-task and adapt quickly to an ever-changing and dynamic environment. You have a flair for sales and can influence customers through your excellent customer service and negotiation abilities.

When you are not executing sales strategies or taking the lead on projects to develop client and event opportunities, you are on-site coordinating all the details of an event to ensure client satisfaction or advancing the event details of internal bookings. You are always motivated to go the extra mile, and always exude exemplary communication, problem-solving, organization, and creative thinking skills with a professional grace.

What you will get to do here

Working within a fluid and fast paced work environment, the Event Services Lead is at the helm of bookings revenue generation and organizing events for clients at Arts Commons. Whether it be a wedding, presentation, conference, gala, or special meeting, the Event Sales Coordinator exercises exemplary attention to detail, communication and organization skills to bring client events to life.

Your primary function as the event services lead will be to strategically book Arts Commons’ facilities and related services to maximize revenues, and to coordinate events in a professional manner. The key accountabilities of this role will take a focus on the primary areas of: sales, event management, bookings (internal), and customer Service.

Must haves:

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in an event planning or sales coordination role
  • Client & patron services experience, with an emphasis on customer service
  • Experience with special events co-ordination and budgeting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the arts sector, meeting & event industry, and local media landscape
  • Ability to stand and work at functions for up to four hours at a time
  • Excellent customer influence and negotiation skills
  • Can approach issues with a problem-solving attitude while exercising independent judgement
  • Positive working relationships and demonstrated teamwork with internal and external contacts while working towards the success of Arts Commons
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and effective organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
