Archived June 1, 2018 Experiments in Mixed Media With Carol Nelson Learn about a variety of materials and techniques, such as use and preparation of Tyvek, metals and metal foils, embossed foils, combusted origami foil, rusted iron paint, making your own special collage papers, and creating unique focal medallions using air dry clay, inexpensive substitutes for pricey art materials, and much more. You will learn Carol’s “sandwich technique” which takes the fear out of facing the great white void (your canvas). You will see how using a “sandwich” will suddenly make abstract composition easy and almost effortless. We will also discuss abstract composition and colour theory, various kinds of supports, how to attach various collage elements, and presentation options for a finished piece.
