Fund Development Committee Members Wanted

THIRD ACTion is currently looking to recruit committee members for our fund development committee.
THIRD ACTion Film Festival celebrates ageing and older adults in an effort to make an age-positive culture shift. We are heading into our fourth year of operations. Our 2021 festival, is set for June.
Let your passion for older adults, film festivals and connecting with the community make a difference in Calgary and Canada.
You:
- Love talking to people and watching them get excited about something you believe in.
- Are creative in making a connection between our mandate and a potential sponsor’s business.
- Function best in a collaborative environment with key stakeholders (staff, volunteers, sponsors and partners).
- Have experience with fundraising or a desire to learn about this dynamic component of non-profits
We will:
- Have fun while making a meaningful difference.
- Watch some great film and extend your networks.
- Meet new and interesting people with diverse backgrounds.
- Develop effective group decision-making skills.
- Obtain an understanding of group dynamics and relationships.
- Provide board membership training, if that is something you are interested in.
Time Demands (approximate):
- Attend and actively participate in at least 75% of committee meetings (nine out of 12 monthly meetings) (~two hours in length with ~one hour of preparation).
- Meet with potential sponsors and existing sponsors to build relationships with a view to obtaining a commitment (~three hours per month).
- Participate in the annual planning process (four hours per year).
- Attend and promote special events related to developing relationships with THIRD ACTion donors, sponsors and partners—shared amongst board members and committee members. (~four hours per year).
- Attend annual sneak-a-peek networking event (~four hours per year).
- Attend portion of Calgary festival (~four hours per year).
Total Time Commitment Annually: 87 hours
Average Monthly Commitment: 7.25 hours
