Junk/Treasure Journal Workshop

Dates: September 12, 19 & 26, 2022

Teachers: Viviana Pacheco and Karen Riley

Junk or treasure (to me it is full of treasure and personality) journals are handmade books created from special moments and junk such as doodles, ticket stubs, a receipt from a romantic date, a piece of fabric from your wedding dress, small bits of artwork, or anything else you can think of!

A junk/treasure journal is a piece of artwork in itself and is a very inspiring creative process. Also sometimes known as a smash book, it can be used as a sort of daily scrapbook. It also doesn’t have to be done daily if you don’t have a lot of time. Junk journals can be all different sizes. You can make a big book or a mini book or somewhere in between. There are tons of different ways to experience and enjoy junk journaling but hopefully this series of workshops will help you feel inspired with your own junk/treasure journal making. Learning to create your own journal is fairly easy, and you can buy many inexpensive ones at dollar stores, fancier ones online, or even leather bound at specialty bookstores. However, it’s not hard to create a beautiful art piece with hand-picked pages, handcrafted pockets and personalized pages that tell your story.

In this three-part workshop, you can choose to take one, two or all three workshops, depending on what you’d like to learn, or what you need for your personal skill set.

All materials included.

Each workshop class is $100, all three for $260
