Diverse Inspirations

Date: June 22, 2021, 6:30 – 8:30pm
Cost: $22.23

Join Samantha (Sam) Jones for a mini-retreat to discuss the diverse writers that inspire us, and create some works of our own.

This intimate session will include a roundtable where each participant will share a piece of writing by an author/poet who inspires them, a write-in session with writing prompts, and an opportunity (optional) to share and discuss the pieces that we create. All styles of writing are welcome!

What to Bring

Notebook and pen or laptop/technology to write with.

Short piece of writing (or an excerpt from a longer work) by a BIPOC writer who inspires you. Aim for something that takes five minutes or less to read. You will share it with the group along with a few words on why or how it is inspiring or why it is important to you.

Pre-Work

Select a piece by an inspiring writer that you would like to share with the group and prepare a short explanation of the work and why you find it inspiring. More detailed instructions about this activity will be provided after registration. The pre-work is not intended to be time consuming!
