Alberta Printmakers (A/P) is pleased to release our call for submissions for our Main Space Gallery’s 2020/21 programming. All artists (local, national, and international) working in print-media are welcome to apply.

Description
Alberta Printmakers (A/P) invites all artists incorporating print media techniques within their practice to apply for our 2020-2021 juried gallery exhibitions program. Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery is located at 4025 4th St. SE, in Calgary (Mohkinstsis), Alberta.
Exhibition applications are reviewed by a selection committee, which is composed of gallery staff, board members, and practising artists. Exhibitions are chosen based on alignment with the Gallery Mandate, artistic and conceptual merit of work submitted, and feasibility within the Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery. A/P pays exhibiting artists according to the CARFAC minimum fee schedule.
Gallery Mandate
Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery is an artist-run gallery located within A/P’s print centre. The Main Space Gallery Program exhibits innovative, contemporary, print-based art produced from emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Print techniques can include any or a combination of relief, intaglio, monoprint, lithography, silkscreen and digital. These techniques can also be combined with any other media such as, but not limited to, fabric or ceramics.
Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery shows regional, national and international artists working in a range of concepts and techniques. A/P’s goal is to provide opportunities for the artistic and public communities to experience the diversity of print media art as a contemporary and vital artistic medium.
About Alberta Printmakers
Operating since 1989, Alberta Printmakers’ Society (A/P) cultivates an inclusive and collaborative environment to learn about printmaking, to create printed works, and to pursue exciting artistic opportunities. We demonstrate this through our publicly accessible Main Space Gallery programming and emerging artist satellite exhibitions, through our studio facilities and educational programming, and by regularly coordinating projects and events that foster artistic excellence and community engagement in printmaking and the arts. A/P has open membership.
It is governed by a board of directors and operated by the executive director and studio director, who reach out to volunteers to accomplish A/P’s goals. A/P gratefully acknowledges that our activities take place on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
