Archived May 6, 2022 Marketing and Sales Assistant Summer Job Term: Part-time summer position, possibility to become permanent. Canada Summer Jobs funded position eligibility requirements: Applicant must be legal to work in Canada and must be between the age of 15 and 30 at the start of the job. Hours: Approximately 20-30 hours per week. During peak times may be up to 35 per week. Daytime, weekdays, and weekends. Note: It will be very busy during Indigenous Day events June 20 – 25, 2022 and during the Calgary Stampede, from July 1-24, 2022, please plan for full-time hours. Compensation: $17/hour Work Location: Covid-19 health guidelines will be followed. Work will take place remotely, and on location at the gallery in Inglewood, Calgary, and in pop-up locations around Calgary and area. Job Details Moonstone Creation Marketing and Sales Assistant Moonstone Creation marketing and sales assistant builds a loyal customer base through authentic engagement and a strong social media presence, using the website, social channels, newsletter, direct email, and in-person events to enhance online and gallery sales. Goals: Increase customer base. Increase tourism visitors to the gallery. Celebrate and promote the artisans in the gallery network. Skills required: Ability to understand the philosophy and mandate of the gallery, and to become familiar with the different artists and types of art forms. Ability to write independently and self-edit. Experience in developing and coordinating print and digital projects. Experience creating social media content for a business. Familiarity with monitoring insights and analytics for Facebook and Instagram and website. Familiarity with shooting short video for social media; ability to edit and use channel tools to augment video content (filters, GIFs, polls, digital editing tools, etc.) Comfortable responding professionally to audiences on social media. Friendly, comfortable working with the public, doing sales. Honest and bondable. Tasks and Activities Content Development & Sales Support Prepare and publish short, concise descriptions and visual assets of Moonstone Creation products, classes and services for website, Facebook, Instagram, newsletter, print (e.g. brochure), and other media. Capture real-time stories of Moonstone Creation at work and behind-the-scenes for social media. Create images and write copy, links and updates for static web pages in Big Commerce website including product and course descriptions; sales copy for product; artist bios; general updates on a regular basis. Take photos, add descriptions, shipping fees, and upload new products to the online inventory. Ensure links, payment systems are functioning. Keep track of online sales and payments. Set up automated emails (e.g. course registration confirmations) Set up forms. Evaluate and set up social media scheduling system (eg. Hoot Suite etc.). Running errands. Assist with product and art creation. Assist gallery staff in creation, preparation and packaging of products as needed. Experience with the following would be an asset: Prepare short articles for media release, follow up for media coverage. Develop and maintain an editorial calendar that provides a clear schedule of what content is being shared when, to what audience and where (social, web, print, media). Evaluation of current followers and customers, tracking response to posts and tracking purchasing trends. Photography and videography. Image editing using Adobe Photoshop or similar (cropping, resizing, enhancements, etc.). Managing an online inventory in BigCommerce, keeping track of stock. Stock and transactions reporting. Instagram for Business (selling products directly from Instagram posts, or linking to website). Creating e-newsletters (using MailChimp or similar) and maintaining a client mailing list.
