Archived May 11, 2022 Become a Bloom Movement Mentor Inspiring People With Disabilities to Live on Purpose, with Purpose At BLOOM, we believe the messy and chaos of life is pure magic and if we can help others see the magic and inspire their purpose, we believe that’s where true happiness lies. Whether through music and movement, art and our senses, nature, and mindfulness, we all have the ability to reach deep into our souls to find what makes us tick and we all deserve the opportunity to explore that which inspires us. Connection is the key to belonging. Recognizing our participants’ characteristics as being worthy and constructive helps them realize their impact on those around them and offers a new perspective on the value they bring to one another and their community. We believe that through dance parties, playful exploration, mindful conversations and outdoor adventures, we foster and build natural connections to create a community that, together, can encourage, support, and love enough to withstand all the messiness of life. When we live on purpose, with purpose, we can BLOOM! We are seeking volunteers who are energetic, playful, and enthusiastic to participate as movement mentors for our summer camps. In this role, you will share movement, dance, and music with others while connecting with participants in a fun, inclusive environment. Each Mentor is paired with a participant with whom they will build a connection and trusting relationship. This opportunity provides valuable work experience while interacting with diverse populations. Previous experience supporting those with special needs is an asset, though not mandatory. Summer camps run throughout July and August 2022. Volunteers are preferably available for an entire week (Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm), though day-long volunteering positions may also be available. For more information visit the volunteer tab on our website bloomwell.ca. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 403.452.7600 if you are interested!
