New Forum Issue #3

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

New Forum is seeking unpublished work by writers and artists in Alberta for our third issue. We’re a revival of Forum, a grassroots feminist magazine published from 1988-2002 by the Calgary Women’s Writing Project.

We accept fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, and photography from writers and artists living within what’s colonially known as Alberta: the territory of Treaty 6, 7, and 8 nations, and the Métis Nation of Alberta.

We prioritize the work of creators who face barriers to publication and success in CanLit. This includes, but is certainly not limited to Black and Indigenous writers; writers of colour; women; queer, trans, Two-Spirit, and nonbinary artists; and artists with visible or invisible disabilities. We make this happen with an intentional selection process and a committed editorial collective.

Get a feel for the type of work we publish by purchasing our first two issues online! This is our first issue with our new editor, Leah Horlick, who is so looking forward to reading your work. You can also learn more about us on Instagram @NewForumAB.
