Archived June 3, 2021 Nose Hill Mural Project Open to Indigenous Artists The deadline extended and submissions are now accepted until June 15, 2021. This is an opportunity for a local Indigenous or Métis artist to create a mural at an entrance to Nose Hill Park. The site is a heavily-used pedestrian tunnel near the 64th Ave. NW entrance to Nose Hill Park, and the mural will be installed at both entrances to the tunnel (two walls at each end, for a total of four surfaces). Preferred Skills Experience with mural or site-specific installations. Knowledge of weather-resistant materials and application techniques. Familiarity with the Nose Hill natural area. Community engagement experience. Timeline Submissions Accepted: May 3 – June 15, 2021 Selection Panel Session: June 2021 Artists Notified: June 2021 Community Engagement/Presentation: July/August 2021 Project Installation: July – September 2021 The artist’s fee for the initial design, revisions and installation will be $2,500.
