Show & Sales July 10, 2019 Open Call for Calgary Artists Motion Gallery invites visual artists to an open call for an art clearance sale. All forms of visual art, painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture will be accepted. The show is open to anyone, emerging artists are encouraged to submit their work, as this is a not for profit artist-run gallery, that helps Calgary artists get established by providing a venue and some to showcase their work. There is no limit as to how many pieces the artists can submit, however, space is limited, large pieces bigger than 3×3” must be cleared by gallery managers. This exhibit is for artwork created any time, however, it must be priced below $300 for the sale. There is no commission for sales from artwork for Motion Gallery. The online registration for submission deadline is July 29, 2019. The public artist’s reception will be August 17, 2019, 3:00 to 7:00pm. There will be artists live painting sessions on Saturdays. Attendance at one Saturday in August is required. Artists participating will also have a chance to plan their own events if they want to invite their own groups to the gallery. Art drop off will be Friday, August 2, 2019, 6:00 to 9:00pm or August 3, 2019, 12:00 to 2:00pm, either day you must come with a signed contract and labelled artwork, all tags printed and filled out. The exhibition runs from August 3 – 24, 2019. Fees: The fee to buy into the show is $20 per piece. Artists payment will be made within three weeks of the event end. Art not picked up will be stored for 30 days and then it will be forfeited to the gallery.
