Job Opportunities May 19, 2022 Part-Time Bookkeeper Calgary Opera is on the lookout for their next part-time bookkeeper to join their busy and exciting team. This role will report directly to and assist the director of finance and administration with a variety of accounting functions including data entry, accounts payable processing, reconciliation with sales programs, budgeting and forecasting, financial statements, and audit preparation. This is a part-time (20 hours per week) office-based role with some flexibility in scheduling. As the part-time bookkeeper your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Entering invoices into the Sage accounting system as per company policies. Issuing cheques or electronic payments as appropriate. Reconciling daily sales and donation reports with the accounting system. Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a periodic basis, at least monthly. Assist in Payroll as required. Act as backup to the director of finance and administration on occasion (e.g., vacation coverage). Ad hoc analysis or reporting as needed. The right candidate will demonstrate on their resume: At least one year of relevant experience. Working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting or a similar program. Familiarity with Tessitura or a similar database would be a strong asset. Background in supporting processes.
