Program Assistant, Education

Reporting to the associate director, education, the program assistant, education, is a nine-week contract position focused on supporting the education team at Arts Commons.

You are passionate about youth and arts programming. You believe that the arts play an essential role in learning, personal development and build strong, vibrant communities. You believe in advocating and amplifying the voices of equity-seeking communities through the arts. You have a broad interest in art-forms from different genres, styles and artistic practices. You’re willing and able to assist and in some cases lead creative workshops. You’re comfortable with digital tools like smart phones, laptops and the apps that let you collaborate online.

You’re comfortable working on individual tasks, but you shine when collaborating with others. You’re a strong communicator — written, over the phone, and in-person — and you’re comfortable taking direction and asking for clarification when you need it. While you can certainly troubleshoot a problem, you’re not afraid to ask for help when you need it — especially when it comes to safety.
