Program Manager, Visual Arts

As a member of a program management team, the Banff Centre is in search of a program manager that will be responsible for the project management of an assigned portfolio of projects primarily related to the Visual Arts program delivery.

The visual arts portfolio encompasses support of programs and projects in all visual arts mediums including digital media, sculpture, ceramics, photography, performance art, drawing, painting, fibre and textiles, and curatorial practice. The program manager works closely with the director, visual arts residencies, and the production manager, artist studios, to assess the needs of upcoming programs, manage operations (including scheduling and budgets) and support artist participants in residence. Programs are a mix of self-directed and thematic residencies as well as other programming.

A critical success metric is translating the vision of the director into an achievable, executable program within the constraints of Banff Centre’s facilities, physical location and staff resources. The program manager in this area should have a knowledge of visual arts as well as an understanding of the operational time and resources required to execute each program.
