Compensation: 30 hrs/week @ $28/hr plus health spending account and/or professional development funds
Travel: Travel will be required throughout Calgary and occasionally to Edmonton
Working Hours: Regular working hours, some evening/weekend work required
Reports to: Executive Director Simon Mallett and Arts Leadership Director Geraldine Ysselstein

The Rozsa Foundation is a philanthropic organization known for effective support and advocacy for the arts. We are seeking to fill a key position on our team with responsibilities in our arts leadership and granting programs.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in arts, arts management, project management or related field.
  • Arts leadership experience including operations management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, FileMaker Pro, and social media tools.
  • Knowledge of the leaders and organizations in the Alberta arts sector.
  • Eagerness to increase personal arts leadership professional knowledge, enhance foundation programs and impact the sector.
  • Professional comportment as befits a foundation representative.
  • Strong written and presentation skills and comfort with public speaking.
  • Self-starter and strong team member.

Job Description

The tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Implement and support Rozsa Arts Leadership Programs including:
    • Working with the arts leadership director to develop and revise program descriptions, plan and act on participant recruitment strategy, facilitate effective applicant registration, enrollment and evaluation, update database, support the successful execution of programs including arranging space and refreshments as applicable, organize guest speakers, facilitate sessions, plan events (with events coordinator), attend final presentations, provide information to potential applicants, prepare session materials, evaluate, advise, and follow through on revisions to programs.
    • Organize and oversee a spring social event for all arts leadership program alumni (with events coordinator).
  • Continue to develop knowledge of the arts management external environment including:
    • Familiarity with current and emerging arts management curriculum.
    • Awareness of what arts leadership and management programs are offered by whom in the Alberta arts sector and across Canada.
    • Seek out information on applicable grants to make foundation programs more accessible.
    • Stay up to date with arts leadership literature.
    • Provide input to foundation regarding arts research.
    • Attend arts sector events on behalf of thefoundation.
  • Monitor ongoing grant activity of thefoundation including:
    • Attend post-approval grant meetings (with executive director).
    • Liaise with grantee contacts to provide grant agreement, evaluation, and other documents.
    • Provide the primary ongoing point of contact for active grantees to answer questions.
    • Receive and file final reports for all Rozsa Foundation grants.
  • Build and implement the board strategy by actively participating in planning the Board Leadership Calgary training event and other potential new initiatives.
  • Provide input on written updates for board meetings.
  • Maintain well-organized electronic and print records, expanding the database as required.
  • Various other assignments as required.
