Social Media Coordinator

ChamberFest West (CFW) seeks a socials-savvy music lover for a 6-month term (March to August) to help promote and share this year’s festival (July 17 – 21, 2024) with audiences.

The social media coordinator reports directly to the director — marketing and communications with three main accountabilities in support of key strategies:

  • Advise on, implement and guide social media strategies toward ticket sales, stakeholder engagement and audience diversification.
  • Content creation and digital design.
  • Social media analysis and reporting.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee CFW’s social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Use existing and produce and post new social media content (text, photo/video, graphics) in collaboration with the CFW Marketing Committee to build awareness, sell tickets and engage and excite stakeholders (the Chamberhood, donors, funders).
  • Track and report key metrics to help guide marketing strategies and tactics.

Must Haves:

  • A general understanding of CFW, its community and its audience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in current design and production software, including Canva.
  • Concise and creative writing skills with superior vocabulary, grammar and clarity with an on-brand, on-message voice.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work independently in a notfor-profit organization.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during the festival week.
  • A passion for the arts!

Nice to Have: Possess a degree or diploma in marketing, communications or digital content and design from an accredited program, and/or a minimum of 3 –5 years & comparable work experience.

Terms:

  • 6-month term (March-August); approximately 80 hours total — including periodic meetings, regular postings, concert attendance, reporting — with concentration leading up to and during the festival week.
  • Remote work environment, some attendance at rehearsals and concerts.
  • $2,000 contract fee.

ChamberFest West was founded as a charitable society in Calgary 2021 and is guided by co-artistic directors Diana Cohen and Roman Rabinovich. Diana is concertmaster with the Calgary Philharmonic and Roman is an acclaimed concert pianist who has performed in the world’s greatest halls and with some of the most exciting musicians on the scene.
