The Flash Forward Incubator Program is an extension of high school arts programming that prepares students for a successful transition out of high school, and into post-secondary institutions, and a career in the arts. For three years, Exposure Photography Festival in partnership with the Magenta Foundation has bought this program to schools in Calgary and Edmonton however we are looking to expand across Alberta. The program consists of four main activities which are completed online and have been designed to support critical and creative thinking, to help students develop their work to show in a professional exhibition and publication. During these activities, all students receive mentorship from professional artists. Post-program, students will have gained knowledge of how to create an artist proposal, created a signature piece for their portfolio, and prepared a working artist statement that they can use for their future endeavors.
