A fresh start for The GRAND and the Calgary arts community. The GRAND is proud to announce our Creative Residency Program! With a new artistic vision and operations team, The GRAND is committed to supporting our cultural and creative community in the present and the future.

We recognize the ongoing challenges to artists’ and creative workers’ livelihoods, many of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. For many artists, survival remains the primary concern. As a means to support the Calgary arts community, the Creative Residency Program at The GRAND will provide free rehearsal space with the aim of providing opportunities for artists in the field of contemporary performance to cultivate their artistic creativity and vision.

Details

Successful applicants will be rewarded one-week (seven days) of free rehearsal space at The GRAND Theatre Studio, between June 28 and September 5, 2021.

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from:

• Emerging, mid-career, and established independent artists (and in some cases small companies).
• Artists working in a range of contemporary performance-based art forms—all disciplines welcome to apply.

The GRAND is committed to equity in all aspects of our work and we encourage applications from all members of our diverse arts community.
