The Storytelling Body: Mask Performance

Journey into the world of visual storytelling and mask performance with Victoria-based physical theatre company the Wonderheads.

Participants will gain clarity and economy of physical expression, improved body awareness, and a greater understanding of what it means and how it feels to bring a fully realized character to life through mask exploration and articulate gestural investment.

Presented by Theatre Alberta in partnership with the Canadian Academy of Mask & Puppetry and Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity.

Dates: March 6 – 8, 2020
Location: Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity
Registration Deadline: February 19, 2020
Arrival Date: March 5 or 6*, 2020
Departure Date: March 8 or 9*, 2020
Cost: $340
Banff Centre Registration Fee: $35
Accommodation: Private rooms $65/night or shared rooms $35/night
Meals: $41/person/day
Total: ranges from $575 to $800 depending on arrival and departure dates and choice of private or shared accommodations.

Theatre Alberta members who reside in Alberta and are in financial need can apply for assistance to cover 25% to 75% of their tuition fee for The Storytelling Body. Funds are limited and will be awarded to those in greatest need.

The deadline to apply for assistance for The Storytelling Body is February 19, 2020.
