Curious about Jacquard weaving? Join artists Jessie Fraser and Mackenzie Kelly-Frère in an exploration of the woven image in contemporary art and design. In this four-day workshop participants will encounter contemporary approaches to working with digital technology to create images for Jacquard weaving using Adobe Photoshop. Four samples will be woven for each student as the principles of working with shaded woven structures are explored. Students will then have the opportunity to have a larger piece woven incorporating what they have learned. Although previous knowledge of weaving may be helpful, no previous experience is necessary. All are welcome! Date: June 4 – 7, 2019 Cost: $550 includes four days of instruction, thread, handouts and access to Adobe Photoshop via AU Arts computer lab. Plus, weaving samples woven by Jessie Fraser.
