To quench your artsy thirst for community and for learning tips, tricks and fresh perspectives on printmaking and print-related subjects. During these informal educational events, A/P hosts a member of our print community for a time of knowledge sharing and community building while we celebrate all things printmaking over tasty soda, coffee and tea from some favourite local businesses! Description After graduating or working in a community studio, it is challenging to set up on your own and to figure out where to source your materials and how to use equipment you manage to acquire that is calibrated differently than what you used while learning how to practice your craft! That is challenging! Eveline will share tips and approaches she has learned after growing her own home studio in the past years and how to stay relevant in the printmaking world when you are an independent printmaker. Some topics that Eveline will cover in this informal talk include: Where to source materials Cheap solutions for expensive equipment Storage and safe home practice Approaches to networking and growing your practice Speaker Bio Eveline Kolijn is a printmaker and installation artist living and working in Calgary. She received an MA in cultural anthropology from the Leiden University in the Netherlands in 1986 and a BFA from the Alberta College of Art + Design in 2008 including the Governor General’s Award for academic achievement. She has participated in national and international exhibitions and residencies, public art projects and community engagement. She has been published in various scientific publications. She is an instructor at the Alberta University of the Arts School of Continuing Education.
