Treasurer

The Calgary Jazz Orchestra (CJO) has been an integral part of the Calgary music community for over 16 years. Founded in 2004 by Johnny Summers, the CJO was created as an environment to showcase, challenge and strengthen the creativity and skills of professional Calgary musicians and support the music community.

Our musicians, board of directors, patrons, sponsors and volunteers come together as a diverse community to appreciate the arts. We welcome people of all ages, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin.

About the Role

The treasurer is a vital part of the CJO’s board of directors, who’s main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing regular financial reports.
  • Providing year-end financial statement.
  • Handling the bank account.
  • Overseeing the overall finances of the organization.
  • Preparing annual budget in consultation with the president, artistic director, and sponsorship.
  • Three-year term.
  • Multiple term renewals are possible.

Current financials are done in Excel Pivot Tables — experience with the program would be an asset.

Please email the Calgary Jazz Orchestra at info@calgaryjazzorchestra.com for more information.

We look forward to hearing from you!
