Trial by Faith: A Faustian Tale

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

DIY Theatre is excited to announce auditions for its spring 2021 production, Trial by Faith: A Faustian Tale, directed by Shelby Reinitz.

Christopher Faust, an accomplished alchemist, faces his greatest challenge as he races to uncover the mysteries of the fabled elixir of life.

Drawing inspiration from Christopher Marlowe’s Dr Faustus and Goethe’s Faust, and featuring an original score, Trial by Faith examines the relationship between magic, science, and religion in the 17th Century while confronting the consequences of our decisions.

We know that this is a difficult time for performing artists, and we acknowledge that there can be uncertainty around scheduling productions at this time. DIY Theatre will be operating in recognition and compliance with all AHS safety regulations, which means that there is the potential for the timeline of this project to shift. We are committed to working with our cast and crew to move forward in a way that is safe and comfortable for the team. Our intention is to complete work on the production by April 2021. Rehearsal schedules will be built around our ideal cast and crew availability.

For further information on Trial by Faith or to express interest in auditioning, please submit your headshot, resume and role of interest (if applicable) to director Shelby Reinitz at info@diytheatre.org. Audition scenes will be provided. We will only be accepting video submissions at this time.

The deadline to express interest in the project is January 21, 2021.

Please note that a small honorarium will be offered for all roles.
