As artists, we are accustomed to uncertainty. We create and exhibit our work with no guarantee of income or reception. However, when an event like a pandemic strike’s- uncertainty doesn’t seem to describe how artists are feeling. We may not feel as though we are being creative enough, making the most out of the quiet, or comparing ourselves more than ever. With canceled plans and projects put on hold it might feel difficult to find your purpose. What are we if we do not create? Who are we if we cannot see ourselves advance and somehow monetize this crisis? Join us on September 27, 2020, at 2:00pm, for our first Umbrella Talks of 2020, Embracing Uncertainty: Mindful Mark Making with Paula Timm. Learn how Paula embraced her creativity during the most adverse time in her life. Follow along with Paula as she walks us through mindful mark-making and tips on reigniting and connecting to your creative practice. This online workshop is completely free but donations are encouraged. Elephant Artist Relief (EAR) artists are paid a CARFAC rate for their time and all donations will be going towards our relief funds for artists in need. To donate, visit canadahelps.org.
