Second Annual Celebration and Exploration
of the Human Figure, Sexuality & Identity

We are looking for unique and expressive works of art that celebrates and explores the human figure, human sexuality, and identity. This is a juried exhibition.

All entrants must be 18 years or older.

Dates

  • Call to Artists: February 15 – June 12, 2020
  • Entry Deadline: June 12, 2020, 11:59pm MST
  • Exhibition Dates: July 4 – July 25, 2020
  • Pick up of Hand-Delivered Work: July 26, 2020, 12:00 – 4:00pm

Guidelines & Terms for Entry

  • Eligibility: International
  • Signed & dated entry form. Add additional pages for extra images.
  • Entry Fee: $ 25 CDN (non-refundable) for the first three works. $5 for every additional image.
  • Sculptural pieces, three slides per image (max). Please include a short description of the artwork.
  • Send images 72DPI as JPG or PDF, no larger than 1024 pixels on the longest side.
  • Payments are to be sent as an e-transfer or PayPal to knoxgalleryofart@gmail.com.
  • Accepted Media: Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fibre, mixed media digital, and prints.
  • Maximum Size of Artwork: 5ft. x 8ft. for 2D works, 3ft. x 3ft x 8ft for 3D works.
  • Sale prices determined by the artist. All prices must include any applicable taxes.
  • The Knox Contemporary Gallery of Art will retain a 35%commission on any sales.
  • All the work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Unsold works will be returned after the exhibition at artist’s expense.
  • All artwork must be professionally framed. Unframed artist profile canvases, 1.5 inches deep only will be allowed as long as edges are cleanly finished.
  • All artwork must be wired ready for hanging. No sawtooth or D-Hook hanging systems. Plexiglass must be used on any framed works unless hand-delivered.

The gallery reserves the right not to exhibit any artwork that differs significantly from the image submitted or is not prepared properly for hanging and exhibiting.

Artists are responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs of their artwork to and from the gallery. All artwork shipped must be sent in reusable crates or cartons and must include prepaid return shipping label. Works without proper labels or reusable crates or cartons will not be returned. Artwork must not be packed with styrofoam or plastic peanuts, or any other loose packing materials. Any artwork that is packed with peanuts, will be resealed immediately and not exhibited.

The gallery will not accept shipments that require payments for GST or Canada Customs Duty. Please check with an art broker or Canada Customs to advise for proper documentation for artwork from all out of country entrants.

Artists are responsible to ensure that their artwork is insured to and from the gallery and while at the gallery. The gallery will take every effort and precautions to handle the work in a safe manner but will not be held responsible for any loss or damages however caused.

By signing the entry form the artist agrees to the terms of guidelines.

We thank all the artists in advance for submitting their work. Only artists accepted to the exhibition will be notified via email.
