Fromage Chaud

Fromage Chaud is a duo consisting of Linda Kitchin playing mandolin and violin, and Darcy North on accordion. Both have many years of music playing and teaching experience. They are full time working musicians who appeal to all ages. They played together in Florence Shustack’s ensembles including the larger “Take the OY Train” and the smaller “Sheer Musika” groups. Linda’s performing experiences also include playing with several other ensembles including “The Amazing Kitchin Band”, “Roots and Boots”, and the Celtic groups, “Conor’s Revenge” and “Stealth”. Darcy, also, has had music performance experiences in other ensembles including DanceCalgary’s “Orquestra Libertango”, and Arthur Lapp’s “German Knights”. Together as “Fromage Chaud”, the duo has already had a number of interesting performing opportunities which have included playing at the Beakerhead Festival, several Calgary and ethnic festivals, numerous private parties, wedding events, and other gatherings that desire their unique blend of varying musical styles and genres from around the world.

Fromage Chaud is Linda Kitchin playing mandolin, violin, and, guitar, with Darcy North on accordion. Having known each other for a number of years from working in the band, “Take the OY Train” and the smaller group, “Sheer Musika”, the idea of forming a duo came about from combining many years of performance and teaching experiences. Linda has played in “Stealth”, a Celtic band, “Roots and Boots”, a folk-country fusion band, “The Amazing Kitchin Band”, and “Conor’s Revenge” both mixed music style bands. Darcy has worked in “DanceCalgary’s Orquestra Libertango” and “Arthur Lapp’s German Knights”. Together as Fromage Chaud, this duo has already had a number of interesting performing opportunities which have included playing at the Beakerhead festival, the Chinese Downtown street festival, clubs and cafés, numerous private parties, wedding events, and other gatherings that desire their unique blend of varying musical styles and genres from around the world.
