Lola Adeniran
My artistic practice ventures into the photography, film and video combining my journalistic background and moving imagery to tell real stories that investigate intersections of identity to help challenge some of the systemic barriers that many artists face in our community. Therefore the guiding principle of my life and artistic practice is the need to speak for those who are usually underrepresented, both in terms of their contributions and their visibility in society. Finding balance or the “in between” is what governs my practice. Utilizing story and visuals in conjunction with these principles is what primarily informs the projects I usually delve into.
