My work is an exploration of the cultural memory, preservation and our emotional connections to societal artifacts, depicting the fading icons of our modern timescape and instilling viewers with a sense of delight and comfort within our busy modern society.
Urban Vignettes are a glimpse into small unexpected moments found in our familiar residential settings, the elegant erosion of man-made constructs and nature’s perseverance within metropolitan environments.
Addressing nostalgic feelings of home, familiarity and community, I express the accidental beauty present in unassuming places and challenge our perceptions of progress.
I work in acrylic paints, on both canvas and woodblocks.
