NASARIMBA (Mikhail Miller and Rachel Ziriada)

NASARIMBA is the visual art practice of Mikhail Miller and Rachel Ziriada. Our practice involves fluidity between the mediums of print, painting, and sculpture. Since 2015, we have engaged in cross-pollinating Mikhail’s background in painting and printmaking with Rachel’s background in multi-media installation and design. Through our collaborative process, we have developed a graphic visual language of form and colour to produce work of various scales.

We make mixed media works on paper involving drawing, painting and printmaking where the compositions are derived from a paper-collage process. These designs have the ability to be translated into large-scale mural productions. We have also developed a body of assemblage work using shapes cut from wood that are painted and assembled into compositions. Alongside these practices, we produce installations that utilize painting, found objects and fabricated forms in physical arrangement of specific spaces.
