Colin Jackson and Arlene Strom Creative Placemaking Award

The Colin Jackson and Arlene Strom Creative Placemaking Award was presented from 2015 to 2018. We thank Colin Jackson and Arlene Strom for their support of the Cultural Leaders Legacy Arts Awards.

The award was established to recognize and encourage the role of the arts in shaping Calgary’s social, physical and economic character. It honoured an individual artist or collective of artists energizing how we interact with our neighbours and neighbourhoods through the arts.

We acknowledge that the land we gather on, Mohkinsstsis, is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations.
