Art for Social Change Public Art Residency Professional Development & Info Session

Are you interested in applying to the Art for Social Change Public Art Residency? Join us for a professional development and information session on December 6, 2023, from 6:30 – 8:30pm. This session will be held in-person at the Calgary Arts Development offices in downtown Calgary. A recording will be made available online.

Public Art is an artistic industry with its own set of unique standards and practices, and often training in these needs is not provided through conventional arts training institutions. As a part of Calgary Arts Development’s new public art program, we are initiating a professional development series intended to support local artists in their professional journey through the realm of public art.

Hosts Dawn van de Schoot and Tyler Los-Jones will explore the unique needs of a public art application. Using the social change residency as a case study, they will provide instruction in putting forward the best application you can.

Attendees are invited to stay after the session for an informal networking opportunity.

Registering for this session confirms that you agree to our group agreements for this event. Be sure to read the document before signing up.
