Kate Stevens

Everything this up-and-coming young musician does sparks her creative life

Born and raised right here in Calgary, 18-year-old emerging singer songwriter Kate Stevens might be young but that hasn’t stopped her from working with and influencing the next generation of musical talent.

“For me, music was never Plan B. This is always just what I want to do and I don’t see myself doing anything other than music,” says Stevens. “I found a ukulele at a garage sale when I was about 11 or 12, so that was kind of how I got into songwriting.”

One of the founding voices behind Youth Musicians of Music Mile Alliance (YO MOMMA), Stevens’ work with this not-for-profit organization is focused on connection, mentorship, and performance opportunities for young, aspiring musicians.
