Allan Rosales
Artist and community connector Allan Rosales looks forward to his new role at Calgary Arts Development
Allan Rosales is a visual artist whose practice includes drawing, painting, poetry, photography, digital art and murals. He also holds a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Concordia University. Having worked extensively throughout Calgary as a community connector, Rosales has recently joined the Calgary Arts Development team as Community Investment Manager, approaching the role from the perspective of the artist.
“As an artist myself coming from that background and having received funding from Calgary Arts Development… I have learned a lot about what it’s like for an artist to get support from CADA. It’s really quite phenomenal all the (ways that CADA) supports arts, artists and arts organizations, so I’m really really really pleased to be in the position and to support our team at CADA as well as the greater community,” he says.
“When I talk about being a community connector, which is how I see myself, it’s that how all these kind of organizations intersect and overlap and it brings together all the things I’m really interested in which are the arts, arts organizations, healthcare system, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and activism.”
