#yycLCL July 2017
I am a Calgary artist grounded in textiles and fibre. For the past three years I have been part of the Contextural Fibre Arts Cooperative self-directed summer residency and spend June, July, and August using the facilities in the Fibre Department at the Alberta College of Art + Design (ACAD).
For a couple weeks this summer I worked with wool blankets and acid dyes. By using a resist-clamp Shibori technique, I created layers of colour with complex designs. This photo shows some of the 50+ pieces still in process, after their second layer of colour. More of this process can be seen on my blog.
Donna Clement is a textile artist from Calgary who creates originally designed art using her own hand-dyed fabrics as backgrounds for stitching, felting, stamping, and a variety of other techniques.
