#yycLCL March 2017
Getting a formal art education made a huge difference for me when it came to improving my skills. In my four years at ACAD I learned a tremendous amount, including the importance of creating colour charts. To some this is a tedious task, but to me it’s the first introduction I get to using a new medium or brand. In my preferred medium of coloured pencil there’s little room for error. Knowing exactly what a colour is going to look like before pencil hits paper is vital and the charts help to eliminate the guess work.
As a full-time graphic designer, the little free time I have is dedicated to my passion for art and illustration. Living a creative life for me is not only about being creative with my artwork but also finding creative solutions that help make my process and time more efficient.
