Equity Town Hall: Imagining the Unimaginable
Join us for a conversation with artist/activists JD Derbyshire and Toyin Oladele on Imagining the Unimaginable: Equity for newcomers and immigrants in the arts sector. Founder and Innovator of the Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI), Toyin talks about her upbringing and how it brought her to successes, failures and current grapplings as she tries to make the art world in Calgary and beyond a more equitable place.
JD and Toyin dig deep to highlight Toyin’s values that helped her combine a range of skills for multiple community projects while staying humble and grounded in her purpose.
The town hall will open with an opportunity to share, followed by community discussion.
