RISE UP Relaunch Lunch #7

RISE UP Relaunch Lunch #7

UPDATED April 7, 2021 – Thanks for your interest in the next RISE UP Relaunch Lunch. This week’s conversation is being postponed in light of the recent Alberta Government announcement that the province is moving back to Step 1 of its COVID-19 restrictions. This postponement will allow everyone time to examine what this means for their coalitions, organizations, and move ahead plans.

We still feel that this is an important conversation to have and will be in touch with a new date as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please email cherie@birdcreatives.com.

Check out another one of RISE UP Calgary’s Relaunch Lunches!

Are you someone working in the arts or the hospitality industry who is looking for creative ways to collaborate amid the COVID-19 pandemic and plan for future recovery? Are you interested in conversations exploring the live experience economy and how to get audiences out and artists back to work in safe and meaningful ways?

RISE UP Calgary is a local initiative created to kick start economic recovery for Calgary’s arts sector. It is an open-source campaign that unites arts, hospitality, and tourism partners to develop a comprehensive array of initiatives and plans for relaunch by building the best possible conditions for success for audiences and artists. Together, we will RISE UP and move forward. As part of our programming, we are hosting a series of relaunch lunches to connect industry professionals and give them an opportunity to network, share ideas, and look for ways to collaborate on COVID recovery planning.

There are some terrific advocacy groups coming together to discuss relaunch strategies and what is needed to get events, artistic endeavors, and festivals back up and running. Join us for a conversation with some of these groups about what common needs and obstacles they are finding as they navigate through the phases of reopening and get back to work in creative and safe ways.

Explore commonalities and great ideas, and look for opportunities to bring them forward in an efficient and cohesive way. Share your own ideas and stories and learn more from your colleagues in the live experience and arts sectors.

Our panelists include Sara Leishman, Executive Director of the Calgary Folk Music Festival and Alberta Outdoor Festivals Coalition, Eddie Leung, Senior Director, Operations & Business Development for the Concorde Group Entertainment and Venues Coalition, Lesley Plumley, President, LP Events and the Alberta Live Events Coalition.

This free Zoom-based conversation will be interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) with a live English transcription available. If you have any questions or comments, please send them to cherie@birdcreatives.com.
