Spotlight on Arts Audiences: Wave 5 Research
The Rozsa Foundation, in partnership with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development, Calgary Foundation, Edmonton Arts Council and Edmonton Community Foundation, is working with Stone-Olafson on the Spotlight on Arts Audiences Research Project. This two-year program surveys arts-inclined audiences in Calgary, Edmonton and elsewhere in the province to provide timely and useful data for arts leaders and organizations three times per year over the next two years.
The Rozsa Foundation invites you to attend the next local Spotlight on Arts Audiences presentation on July 17, 2025, where the Calgary results of the fifth wave of research will be shared. Building on previous research, this wave utilized six focus groups to delve deeper into the “Passive” audience — individuals who occasionally attend arts events but aren’t regular audience members. This group could unlock new audience numbers if arts organizations could entice them to attend even one more time per year.
Afterwards, there will be a networking opportunity with light refreshments, where attendees can delve into deeper conversations about how these findings might impact our collective audience development efforts.
This work is designed to be shared and used by the arts community, so feel free to spread this information widely! Registration is required for this free in-person event.
