Brenda Luong

Brenda Luong (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Moh’kins’tsis, Treaty 7 Territory (Calgary), with a primary focus on ceramics. Her practice shifts between hand building, wheel throwing, and slip casting to create work decorated using techniques borrow from printmaking to create both decorative and functional work. Graduating from the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine with a degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, Brenda seamlessly merges her formal education with her artistic practice.

With a professional background in serving diverse vulnerable populations, her art serves as a reflection of personal narratives and a deep commitment to community building. Through exploring the intricacies of human experience and connection, she continually strives to bridge the gap between art and advocacy.
