Calgary Local Immigration Partnership

The Calgary Local Immigrant Partnership (CLIP) initiative aims to create a more welcoming and inclusive community for immigrants and newcomers in Calgary. Working with community partners, CLIP’s goal is for newcomers to thrive and succeed in Calgary by easily accessing the resources and services they need.

CLIP works across sectors, organizations, and service systems to improve local capacity to welcome and support newcomers. CLIP has identified strategic priorities to help newcomers adjust to life in Calgary.

The CLIP collaborative is made up of the CLIP Council, the Immigrant Advisory Table (IAT) and five working groups made up of community members interested in the work of creating a more welcoming and inclusive Calgary.

The IAT is made up of citizen volunteers who were born outside of Canada. They represent a variety of ages, educational backgrounds, countries of origin, and lived experiences. Members share their perspectives to help the CLIP Council create a settlement strategy that considers immigrants’ needs in community planning, fosters a welcoming and inclusive community, and encourages the full participation of all residents.

If you are interested in joining the working groups or becoming an IAT member, please contact us at CLIP@calgary.ca.
