Karen Ho Fatt
I am Karen Ho Fatt, a Jamaican Canadian public artist and designer based in Bragg Creek, Alberta, with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness of my surroundings. I specialize in creating site-specific art installations, with a focus on the creation of 2D relief wallwork and 3D sculptures with a specialization in glass and clay mosaics.
With a background in both fine arts and design, I approach each project with a holistic perspective, ensuring that my creations are not only visually striking but also resonate deeply with the community they inhabit. I believe that art has the power to transform spaces and foster connections and I strive to create works that invite participation and dialogue.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with architects, designers, and local communities to develop installations that are integral to their environments. My artistic process involves extensive research and community engagement, allowing me to draw inspiration from the rich histories, cultures and natural landscapes of each location.
I embrace the challenge of large-scale projects, finding joy in the complexity of bringing diverse voices together to create something beautiful and impactful. My goal is to craft art that not only enhances public spaces but also celebrates the spirit and creativity of the communities I serve.
