Karin Thorsteinsson

Karin Thorsteinsson is an alumni of the Alberta College of Art + Design (BFA Fibre) and a recent graduate from the the Glasgow School of Art (MLitt Fine Art Practice).

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Karin’s work is primarily focused on the use of brushed on dye and wax resist to create landscape on silk.

We acknowledge that the land we gather on, Mohkinsstsis, is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations.
