Komal Bishnoi
My artistic focus revolves around capturing people in various forms and shapes from different cultures, traditions, and occupations, be it through gender-fluid portraits or human faces and figures. Inspired by South Asian culture, and my personal experiences as an immigrant in Canada, my work sometimes challenges and other times alleviates the viewer, to explore their inner thoughts. Charcoal, soft pastels, and acrylics are my go-to mediums but I love experimenting with non-conventional materials and different surfaces as well. With my artworks, I aspire to capture the true essence of being a human in a world moving away from the human touch and gravitating towards AI.
