What is art and why do we do it? Why am I compelled to record the world around me in art? Not science or code, but art…

I’ve been painting and drawing since I was three. This compulsion to delve into colouring or drawing started as an escape, but then it grew into a need. Regardless of the world around me, I create. My curiosity always gets the best of me, and this burning desire propels me to express what I’ve discovered. Whether an abstract, a portrait, a landscape or a pattern of some sort, it must come out.

I’m a multidisciplinary artist. In my world, this means, today I’m painting a black-and-white portrait in oil, tomorrow, I’ll work on an abstract series of paintings using acrylics, next week I’ll go for a hike, grab my watercolours, do a little painting, then head to the studio the next day and repaint the landscape of my experience. But first, I’ll grab my coffee, sit at my iPad, and work on a colouring book I’m making.

I don’t know the deep philosophical reason for why I create, but I must and in as many ways as I can.
