Luminous Voices
Luminous Voices is a professional chamber choir based in Calgary, Canada, founded in 2012 by
conductor and Artistic Director Timothy Shantz. The choir is recognized for its extraordinary sonic
experiences, which include live and virtual performances, recordings, workshops, new compositions
by contemporary composers, artistic collaborations, and initiatives in community education and
development. Luminous Voices is celebrated for our balanced and polished choral sound, as well as
our commitment to artistic excellence and innovation.
Over the years, Luminous Voices has built a community that not only includes some of Calgary’s
finest ensemble singers but also extends to collaborate with musicians from across North America
and beyond. The choir’s adventurous spirit has led us to explore various formats and repertoire, all
in pursuit of the luminous sound.
