Calgary Arts Development will be arts responder hub in aftermath of floods

Agency’s priority is assessing flood’s impact on the arts community

(Calgary AB) – In response to the recent floods in Calgary, Calgary Arts Development will help support for the city’s arts community in the following roles:

Coordinator: gather information about the flood’s impact on Calgary’s artists and arts organizations; facilitate connections between those needing help and those wanting to help.
Information source and guide: help affected artists and arts organizations access resources to help them through the the aftermath of the flood; create a roster of artists willing to offer their talents to serve general community relief efforts.
Relief provision: look for available resources within Calgary Arts Developments and work with its partners to possible help fund relief efforts. As of June 24, Calgary Arts Development has not confirmed whether any extraordinary funding or resources will be available.

Artists and arts organizations can report the immediate needs and the impact the flood has had on them at calgaryartsdevelopment.com, as well as access other resources as they become available.

Calgary Arts Development will be providing an assessment of the flood’s impact of Calgary’s arts sector to all orders of government and key partners by Friday, June 28.
