Heather is excited to join Calgary Arts Development’s public art team as a project lead. She brings with her a strong passion for facilitating public art, with 8 years of project managing public art, a bachelor’s degree of fine art from AUarts, and a personal practice of artmaking and love for the local film scene.

Born and raised in Calgary, she grew up exploring Fish Creek Provincial Park. Starting her career in print, she decided to go back to school to pursue a career in the visual arts, and it was there that she developed a devotion to public art from seeing the way it can be used to change and engage a space, create discourse, and strengthen a person’s relationship to their environment.
