2025 Art Buses Officially Hit the Road

We are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Art Bus program has officially launched! Fourteen Calgary Transit buses wrapped in original artworks by seven local artists and collectives are rolling across the city for the next six months.

The artists and buses were celebrated at a public event along Stephen Avenue on June 11, 2025, where attendees had a chance to meet the artists and see the vibrant buses up close — inside and out. It was incredible to witness Calgarians interacting with the artwork and engaging with the stories behind them.

“Think of those buses like travelling art shows — bringing stories, colour, beauty and delight to Calgarians in all corners of the city,” said Kirsten Schrader, Public Art Director for Calgary Arts Development. She also congratulated the artists: Dr. Hali Heavy Shield, La Güita, Mao and Chris, Moey Blanco, Presley Mills, Sam Hester, Sydonne Warren.

Keep an eye out — you never know when an Art Bus might be travelling a transit route in your neighbourhood.
