2025 Community-Run Public Art Microgrant Recipients

This year, 28 non-profit organizations are receiving Community-Run Public Art Microgrants of up to $15,000 each to work with an artist and bring a new public art project to life in their communities. From mini galleries, to murals, to artist residencies, these projects reflect the creativity and leadership of communities across Calgary/Mohkinsstsis. Some of the projects are under way and all are expected to be complete by the end of 2026.

Since its launch in 2021, the Community-Run Public Art Microgrant Program has supported grassroots, community-led public art and created meaningful opportunities for local artists. We are grateful to all of the artists, organizations and partners who have been part of this work.

After four successful years of programming, we are pausing the Community-Run Public Art Microgrant Program as we focus on other projects across Calgary/Mohkinsstsis. You can find opportunities for artists and arts organizations through our Public Art and Community Investment programs, as well as external funding sources such as the City of Calgary Arts + Culture Microgrants and Calgary Foundation grants.
